October 31st is seen as a day to get dressed up and enjoy the scares of the creatures that go bump in the night. Others see the holiday as a time to celebrate the ending of Summer and the beginning of Winter. The time of the year when the days grow shorter and the nights grow longer. Samhain celebrates the Day of the Dead, allowing us to communicate with those beyond the grave.
October is considered the month of ghosts and monsters, yet many focus the paranormal energy around the date of Halloween. Samhain is the celebration of the veil becoming thin allowing spirits to cross over from the spirit world.
Many see it as an opportunity to community with their ancestors and embrace lost love ones. Magical users use the holiday to receive messages from beyond the grave either with tarot of other forms of communication.
Tarot Spread Draw the first five cards from your tarot deck and place the first card in the center. The second card will be placed to the left of the first card. The third card is placed to the right of the first card creating a row. The fourth card is placed below card one, while the fifth card is placed above the first creating a diamond. Each card holds a message behind it as in most tarot readings.
The first card represents you in the present. The second card is the ghost of the past revealing what’s waiting in the past for you. The third card is the spirit of the future revealing what the future holds for us. The fourth card is behind the veil revealing the message that your ancestors are giving you. The fifth and last card is before the veil revealing how to bring your ancestor’s messages into your daily life.
Tarot Card Meaning The cards I drew were the Queen of Cups reversed, Five of Wands, Page of Wands, The Lovers reversed, and Ace of Wands. I also drew the Two of Swords for clarifications of the reversed The Lovers card. The Queen of Cups showed a woman who is an empath allowing their imagination to overwhelm common sense.
My lesson from the past is competition, the Five of Wards showed that in the past I enjoyed a challenge when facing a rival. The Page of Wands revealed opportunities of success that I must take full advantage of. I hold the resources and courage to see them through, if I stay focused and stopped daydreaming.
The last two cards, The Lovers and Ace of Wands hold a connective meaning. The Lovers reversed showed that with the Two of Swords that I’m seeking emotional balance, despite the frustration I feel from the recent string of bad luck. The last card. Ace of Wands showed that my talents are being revealed lading to a promising future that will inspire others, if I’m willing to take the risk to achieve it.
Many see the holiday to reconnect with ancestors and loved ones that have moved on to the next life. Many seek out messages from beyond the grave hoping for insight to life’s problems and words of wisdom. If our loved ones are remembered they will always be there watching over us and keeping us safe from harm.
Now, shush, I’m trying to read. Luna
