After watching fantasy movies or reading novels set in fantasy realms, wonder what the different methods of are casting a spell. Even those who are gifted with magical abilities in real life, prefer one method over the other. Spell casting is separated into three categories wand magic, enchantments, and curses; not including the aid of potions, deities, and nature to aid in the castings of spells.
Wand Magic Many Wiccans and Pagans have a wand as part of their tool kit for creating spells and rituals. It’s suggested that wands be created from dead trees or fallen trees. In the case where you must cut off a branch from a tree, a blessing and thanks offered to the tree. Others will plant a sapling to replace what’s been taken. There are many different types of trees used for wands, though the most common are Birch, Laurel, Maple, Oak, Willow, and Yew.
A wand is a small or long stick with a point on one end and a handle on the other. A caster uses a wand to focus their magic, allowing it to build up inside the wood before casting a spell. Some spell casters carve runes into the wood to help boost spells and create protection for the caster.
Spoken Spells Enchantments are often used either with potions or when using a wand. They are chants or in some cases songs that direct the magic to complete a task. Many spell casters use words to invite the elements for casting a circle and when speaking to the deities. Chanting can help with a person creating a barrier of protection or when getting into a meditative state.
Spells are found in spell books or on the internet to perform special tasks. It’s recommended that the caster create their own chants to infuse their power with the words. It helps if the words are direct and to the point instead of being vague or too detailed. Most chanting’s and spells are recited in Layin or in other foreign languages, depending on the person’s technique.
Negative Spell Work Like everything in nature, there is a positive and negative aspect. Those that wish to use magic to harm others, rely more on curses than healing or other properties of magic. Curses use a casters magic to cause harm to their opponents, and like all magic pain’s inflicted on the caster as payment. Curses fall into three types the evil eye, spitting, and verbal curses.
Curses are filled with ill will with the desire to pass bad luck or harm to others usually cast in jealousy or anger. Many casters avoid this area of magic to harm other leaves stains on your sanity and soul. Wiccans and Pagans regard The Rule of Three. This universal law is also known as Three-fold Law or Law of Return. It states that what a person puts into the universe good or bad will be returned three times.
When it comes to casting spells the conduct is not important. When casting a spell, it comes down to a person’s will and intention that will make the spell a success. Our intentions are what we wish as the product of the spell’s success, and a will to see through to the spell’s completion. In the end, it comes down to the strength of the casters mental and magical ability.
Now, shish. I’m trying to read. Luna
